Description of the Modification

After a couple months with no new monsters, I wanted to show people how
easy it is to do. So I took the Scrag, made some simple modifications and
a few new sounds, and MDLs and came up with the "Hell Scrag".
How to Install the Modification
-------------------------------
Put PAK0.PAK in a subdirectory of your quake directory called "HS", then
run quake with "QUAKE -GAME HS +MAP HWTEST". This will bring up a simple
room (I'm still learning how to use quest, guys) with a hell scrag in it.
Be quick when switching to god mode...this guy makes life miserable.
Technical Details
-----------------
I spent about 1/2 hour working on the red bloodshot eyes (like mine) and
the Quake Logo branded on his back. Sounds were about 15 minutes of slurping
and spanking into the microphone until I picked the ones I liked best. I left
some of the original stuff in because I wanted it to sound simular but also
be distinguishable. The MDL is complete with a gibbed head that has red eyes.
Umm....The QC stuff took another 1/2 hour just changing minor things like
"wizspike" to "knightspike". And adding another QC file and death message.
Beleive it or not, the MAP file was the hardest part! I spent a whole 45
minutes making a small pretty room and trying to keep the player from always
telefragging the Hell Scrag! Aarrg! I was gonna put some lighting in but I
figured if it works, it's okay. You can add the Hell Scrag to your own maps
by making an entity called "monster_hwizard".
For those interested, there is only a few files you need to modify to add
a monster (QuakeC). Just copy the base from another monster and modify it.
Then make a few changes to "AI.QC" and "CLIENT.QC", and you're set.
